Join Edu-Futuro in its first-ever Viva La Salsa fundraiser event, from 8-10 PM on Friday, May 13!
Edu-Futuro is raising money to provide scholarships, career programming, community resources, and job training for immigrant high school and college students in Arlington and Fairfax Counties. Hosted by Salsa with Silvia, each ticket allows entry to a one-hour beginner salsa class taught by a professional instructor, followed by a brief 5-minute speech from our Executive Director and, of course, a one-hour salsa dance party!
Tickets will be purchased through this form (options below.) Attendees will receive a confirmation email containing the receipt (for tax purposes and for the event.) We have single and double tickets, sold on a first-come, first-served basis. All sales are final.
The doors at The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio will open at 7:50 PM. Upon arrival, you will present your receipt (either printed or digital) to an event manager, who will check off your name from the registry.
After initial registration, please feel free to come and go as you please!
Please bring shoes comfortable for dancing (no flip flops or sandals). The event will not serve alcohol, but there are bars within walking distance of the Studio along Georgia Ave.
Edu-Futuro aims to raise $2,000 for this event. This amount will provide stipends for low-income high school students to attend unpaid internships before attending
college, and college scholarships for underserved high school seniors. Each $50 provides a cash award recognizing the winner of speech and writing competitions in Edu-Futuro’s flagship Emerging Leaders Program (ELP).
Special thanks to Women’s Healthcare of Princeton for sponsoring this Viva la Salsa first edition!
The event will be held at The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio located in Washington, DC (3232 Georgia Ave NW). Located in Northwest DC, street parking is available
along Georgia Ave. and 14th St NW, with some side streets offering free parking after 8 PM.
It is roughly a 10 minute walk from the Georgia Ave. Metro Station, which is accessible through the WMATA green and yellow Lines.
